my best four-legged friend
When I'm sad, I swear she can tell, and she'll come up to me so very gently, and just put her head in my lap, her paw on my leg. When I'm happy she's right there with me too. She knows me. Some people may think it's crazy but I feel like she can read my mind and is more in tune with what is going on than anyone gives her credit for.
Madeline is the sweetest little thing you'll ever meet. To me, she's more like a little person, and if you were to spend time with her I'm sure you'd feel the same way. I'm so proud to be her mama, and I can't wait for her to someday soon have a new doggie best friend when we adopt a second pup. Madeline is the greatest. She's the biggest love bug in the world, and today, I wanted to dedicate a whole post to her, our darling little Boston Terrier!
If you have a pup you just love with all of your heart, post a photo of them in the comments, or make a little "I love you" post on your blog and link here! I'd so love to see your favorite four-legged friend.
Happy Wednesday!

She is the cutest! My Grandparents have a BT as well, named Zita, shes amazing! I'll have to post a picture of my Chloe sometime soon. There is nothing that compares to the love of your pet! <3
ReplyDeleteMy blog is like, 90% posts about my pets (http://unicornpara.de/category/pets-and-husbands/) but here's an overview:
ReplyDeleteMy old cat Claire, she was recently diagnosed with diabetes but she's taking twice-daily insulin injections like a fuzzy pro. I've had her since 1998.
My two dogs! Dougal (the big one) is a Muttly Mutt from Muttburg and is a rescue dog from an Inuit village in the Northwest Territories- before he was flown down to Vancouver he'd never seen grass, only snow! I share custody of him with my ex so he's only at my house in the afternoons/some evenings. Georgie, my new baby puppy Pomeranian, the dog I've wanted since I was a teenager. She's the friendliest, happiest dog in the history of all dogs. These two are best friends.
My husband's surly Pomeranian/Chihuahua Kichou. He's so cute and but he doesn't like anyone but my husband.
Aww. Your description of Madeline reminds me of my little Kudra. I truly think of her as my baby and cannot imagine being without her. I've posted pictures of her on my blog. Check her out if you have a chance.
ReplyDeletehttp://narcissistic-cognizance.blogspot.com/search/label/kudra
She's a shiba inu. She looks like a little fox and is the sweetest doggy.
I'm always writing about my dogs and new kitten on the blog
ReplyDeletethemontanareport.wordpress.com
I know exactly what you means about pups being like people :) I love my sweet Sammie.
I love my chihuahua/italian greyhound mix, Auggie. I've made a lot of posts about him, but there are a couple of pictures in this recent post: http://dontworrybaby.wordpress.com/2010/10/18/hiatus/
ReplyDeleteI remember few years back I was very very scare of dogs until I met my husband. He introduce me to the pit-bull and our terrier. They are truly amazing and you are 100% right. I love them more than cats. When my husband and I have a disagreement all I have to do is to point at my husband and our terrier barks at him. Or when he doesn't wake up our terrier is my alarm clock.
ReplyDeleteHere is a pictures of one of our dog:

My other dog past away 2 years ago.
They are truly the most loyal companion!
What a sweetie Madeline is! When do you plan to adopt another?
ReplyDeleteHere is a post about my baby. Thanks for the prompt! I've been meaning to post something about her. :)

Pugs and bostons are my top 2 favorites, and i already have a name picked out for the day i can give my little pug Olive a Boston friend. :) And I'm the same way, I swear that Olive is the best thing in the world. When we first got her, I just wanted to call in sick and be with her 24/7... and I'm never one of THOSE people, she just does that to me. :)
ReplyDeletemy latest post is a picture of her sweet face - take a look. :)

Oh so cute! I just posted the other day a pic of me and pup!
ReplyDeletehttp://misslarissabree.blogspot.com/2010/10/me-and-poops.html
That is how I feel about my dog Czara. While I love both of my dogs, Czara is so intuned to my emotions that it feels like she can read my mind! I have a few photos of her on my blog, but the problem is that she is black lab (and boxer) which makes her very hard to photograph!
ReplyDeleteI love all my dogs to pieces (sunbathers here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lowlywyrm/4754050332/in/set-72157624302968917/) but dylan is the dog of my heart. she's been through everything with me- the deaths of my parents, a decade of growing up through my twenties, into my marriage and wonderful new life with my husband. she's just the best. she knows me better than any person, i think. we were made to love each other. sigh. here she is in her favorite place in the world: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lowlywyrm/4752881245/in/set-72157624302968917/
ReplyDeleteLove this post, so cute. I also have a little girl boston, she was rescued from a mill, so I got her when she was 2. Bostons are just the sweetest, funniest little pups ever, I love them. Here is my blog post about my little BT Darling Belle.

Madeline is adorable!
aw! :)
ReplyDeleteWith everything that is going on (particularly me unexpectedly staying with my parents while my husband is overseas- they're dog haters), we had to find new homes for our precious dogs. :( I miss them every day!
There's something special about dogs. : )
ReplyDeleteI just posted on my blog about my pupperdog. Check it out.

My little baby, Lilly, is seriously my best friend and the love of my life. I got her as a 'surprise' for my boyfriend, and it has been love since day 1. i even have a tattoo of a tiger lilly on my foot in honor of her!

I love Boston Terriers! I've been looking for a friend for my dog, Davey, who is insanely smart & is the same way your dog is to you. I post him all the time on my blog but here's a picture of him!
ReplyDeletehttp://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHFKiQdEUb4/TICaUPp0SpI/AAAAAAAAAjU/yPIVA4_z9a8/s400/davey.jpg
He's the coolest!
Awhh, she is adorable! I fully believe that dogs (and cats!) have much more insight and personality than most people give them credit for! Just spend a day with one of mine, never a dull moment :)
ReplyDeleteDogs are amazing creatures. I miss mine so much!! She lives back in CA with my dad. She always made me happy and I've had her since I was a little girl. She just turned 9 at the beginning of October. :)
ReplyDeleteLittle Sugar Monster♥
I'm so glad you asked us to do this because i LOVE sharing pictures of my Boston terrier! He's not quite as sweet, affectionate as yours. He is but he's very playful(he's still quite a pup). I have pictures of him all over my blog. OBSESSED
ReplyDeletewww.looselips-sinkships.com
So sweet! Love your bedding by the way.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Angus: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thepapermama/4979547289/
I've had some fun browsing through your blog! I can't believe I haven't seen it before. You're so cute.
Thats so funny that you posted a little post about your dog today. I'm starting a weekly Wednesday pet story series on our blog. Check it out and let me know if you want to share your story! (I was going to ask you anyways!!) www.curiositiesandthelike.blogspot.com

Boston terriers are so freakin' cute!
ReplyDeleteI was browsing through this book on dog varieties today, and it mentioned how sweet Boston Terriers can be. so nice timing!
ReplyDeleteI looove dogs and wish I had one, but I'm not stable enough with my schedule to get one yet, and my boyfriend is more of a cat person (despite his ridiculous cat allergies, for some reason)
Love the last pic of you two!
I don't have a pup, but I have a hedgehog who I love so much!
ReplyDeleteLots of people think hedgehogs would have no personality, be grumpy, not do anything, etc. but she is fantastic!
When I got her she was so scared of everything, and it was hard to even get her to come out of her ball.. now after months of handling and playing with her, she is the friendliest little thing! I am so happy I decided to get her!
I blogged about my French Bulldog, Buddha, a few days ago. He knows when I'm happy or sad too.. He's always able to make me laugh. He makes my heart melt :)
ReplyDeletehttp://mandysf.blogspot.com/2010/10/day-15-pets.html
Madeline is such a sweetie! My frenchie named Lily is my BFF. I'd do anything for her really.
ReplyDeleteShe has her own flickr album (how can I pick just ONE?)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyiblink/sets/72157624417085048/
and a blog (linked in the album description).
our little nest loves our pooch Walter. He makes it into a lot of our family pics. He's so hairy sometimes people think he's a bear cub!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday friend.
xo
I feel the same way about my pupcakes Scout. we found her on the side of the road on my birthday in July so I'm pretty sure she is my dog soulmate. here is a picture of miss scoutalicious. she thinks she's a supermodel.

I so wish I could have a lovely doggy but me and my OH work full time and live in a small flat so we can't :( One day I will have a Boston or a Frenchie!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the feelings part! and I love dogs!
ReplyDeleteSadly none of mine are no longer with me
your pup is crazy adorable! *heart melting*
ReplyDeletei actually just posted a recent silly photo shoot of my own pup, daria, today...
http://www.atthedewdropinn.com/2010/10/un-chien-du-theatre.html
my love for her could make me explode if it grew any stronger! <3
Aww, sweet - we got a new beagle puppy two weeks ago, and I'm in the half-praying-for-patience/half-oh-my-gosh-you're-adorable-I-love-you phase.
ReplyDeleteYou can see pictures of my Luna baby on my blog:
http://markandaprilskinner.blogspot.com
I technically have 8 legs to talk about...and of the feline variety. Here's a link to a post I wrote several months back adoring my babies!
ReplyDeletehttp://sippingsweettea.blogspot.com/2009/08/furbabies.html
And I love the picture of you and your pup! It looks like she's smiling with you!
She is adorable! I love her name... how spunky for a little pup.

ReplyDeleteCheck out my adorable boston! I have had him for 10 years and he is the best!

ReplyDeletethere are two dogs in my family - daisy duke, who was a birthday present from my parents,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kellyannphotography/3988977719/in/set-72157622534143068/
and her brother, jack (he's in love with cameras and always has to be really close to the lens;)),
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kellyannphotography/3989735024/in/set-72157622534143068/
they were the closest to each other out of the entire litter of puppies, that we just couldn't bear the thought of separating them. they love each other so much, it's so cute!
What a brilliant post. Thank you for inspiring me to capture a little bit of my cute Chinese Crested: http://projectlorna.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteDogs are truly the best people in the world and if we could live life a little bit more like they do the world would be a much happier place.
Awwwe, what a cutie pa tootie ♥!
ReplyDeletefour legged friends, huh?
ReplyDeletemadeline is so sweet- i can't wait to have a doggy and a boston terrier is one of my top breeds- they're just so sweet and silly looking!

oooooh how adorable. I love how she's smiling in that second photo with you! I love animals.
ReplyDeleteMy best four-legged friend is my bunny rabbit Willum. He's the funniest, silliest animal you could imagine. He likes ginger biscuits, drinks herbal tea, goes crazy for dried fruit and begs when you go to the fridge.
Here's a blogpost with him eating an almond croissant:
http://missmacchiatoloves.typepad.com/blog/2010/09/all-quiet.html
In winter he'll come and sit on the electric blanket with me and watch movies, or shove his head under my hand so I stroke him!
http://www.hahawhat.com/2010/03/spring-training.html
ReplyDeleteThere's a montage of my beautiful pup! <3
Sometimes I wish he were tinier, like Madeline!
It's so true that pups know exactly how you're feeling and are extra sensitive when you're sad or depressed. I lived 22 years without a pet and now that I have a dog I can't imagine her not being around.
ReplyDeleteLoving the pet love!!

Aw, I feel this way about my pup, too. It's so odd how dogs are like little people. Madeline is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteMadeline is so cute! You have definitely inspired me to want to get a boston terrier for our next pup. <333
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post!
ReplyDeleteToday our Oliver (this one here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47314283@N02/4876436086/) is kind of sick (nothing serious), but it's enough for me to decide I'm staying home all day with him. He's always with me when I'm sad or ill, and even if I'll never be so sweet and understanding like a dog, I can try to do my best! :-)
Marta

http://amylouwhogirl.blogspot.com/search/label/Lily
that is too sweet.
ReplyDeleteyou'll have to let us know how she reacts when baby Henry is born. i've always wondered if most dogs get jealous of losing some attention.
i know i have a Yorkie who is a year old, and when I have my two year old niece over she gets jealous and try's to steal her spot on the couch and will sit on her. she also loves people, and loves licking people, little ones especially and i cant imagine having a baby around because she would want to lick its face all the time!
Oh!! So glad you did this. I have always wanted to show off my little pups, and you gave me the perfect excuse to do just that! They just seem to make my life a little bit sweeter!

Puppy dogs are the best of the best :)
ReplyDeleteMy boy, Owen, is the sweetest, most wonderful friend I could ever hope for. He is a bernese mountain dog he's only 2 1/2, but sadly they don't have very long lifespans. It breaks my heart to even think about him not being here... but it breaks my heart even more to think that he might not be able to meet my future babies. I'll just love him to bits in the present and keep my fingers crossed for the future!
I ought to do a full-fledged post for him, but in the meantime I have a bunch of silly pictures of him on my blog - http://itwasjustlikethat.blogspot.com/
Madeline seems like a real doll!
Oh my word, I hadn't been on my blog for ages (bad blogger!) and I just checked it and you commented on my post! I screamed when I saw it and got all of my friends to come and see! It feels like a celebrity said hi to me! Thank you thank you thank you!
