Happy Monday!
Today I thought I'd make tribute post to one of my favorite ladies in the whole, wide world- Dolly Parton! I've been a Dolly fan forever (although I still haven't ever been to Dollywood), and I think she is just so fun and uplifting. Dolly is a little firecracker, and if you watch any of her interviews I'm sure you'll fall right in love with her too.
Are any of you Dolly fans? Here are a few videos via youtube! Enjoy.
and the cutest interview:

Oh I love Dolly Parton! This is so embarrassing but when I was little, my mom used to say when girls got older they grew their own "dollies" hahaha. It always comes to mind when I see her<3
ReplyDeletebig time, life long fan!!!
ReplyDeleteJolene is one if the best songs ever composed period.
ReplyDeleteOooo I love Dolly too, she is such a cutie pie! My favourite quote:
ReplyDelete"it costs a lot of money to look this cheap"
Great post. I am new to your blog and loving it. Keep up the good work
xx Violet
i love Dolly! just had 2 russian dolls tattooed on my leg and had 'made in dollywood' written under them! ha my favourite person ever! x
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, who doesn't love Dolly? How could you not?! I've never been to Dollywood either but I've been to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede in Missouri!
ReplyDeleteFavourite Dolly quote: "Apparently it takes a long time to do my hair...I wouldn't know, I'm not in the room when it happens!" I also love the cameo she did in the Beverley Hillbillies movie, singing "They spent a fortune on me for you!"
OMG I love DOLLY! As a child my favorite movie was "Best Little Whore House in Texas". Please, please tell me you have seen it!? Burt Renolds+Dolly= AAAAAMAZING. Seriously still one of my favorite movies of all time. I was raised by my grandmother so it was a Dolly/John Wayne/Jean Kelly youth. Country western movies and musicals? Especially combined...TGFGrandma!
ReplyDeletedollywood is a trip! it is so much fun and very interesting. i HIGHLY recommend it for a vacation.

Yes! I adore Dolly. She is the cutest thing ever. I really really want to go to Dollywood someday. I had a friend go not too long ago and she said it was amazzzing.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love me some Dolly Parton. I even had a Dolly Parton "barbie"-type doll when I was little.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite quotes of hers is: "A peacock sitting on it's tailfeathers is just another turkey!"
She's such a joy.
i love dolly! i'm from pigeon forge (where dollywood is) and we're actually 5th cousins! our families were friends but i've sadly never met her... yet ;)
ReplyDeletemy parents took us to dollywood when we were little.... i don't think i even knew who dolly was but it was fun! :)
ReplyDeleteLove Still Magnolias! She makes the movie for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to listen to the Christmas album she has with Kenny Rogers every Christmas. It's tradition. =)
I love her especially because of her tolerance which catches you off guard coming from an older southern lady like she is.
ReplyDeleteYes she's awesome! Best Dolly quote ever:
ReplyDelete"You'd be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap! "
Love her
Another fellow Dolly lover. And I agree with what Anonymous said (for once an anonymous comment that isn't filled with assholery!). I'd love to meet her and for some reason I feel like she's be an amazing Thanksgiving host. Amazing woman!
ReplyDelete*SHE'D not she's. The coffee is barely kickin' in...
ReplyDelete9-5 was my favourite movie when I was like 7. I watched it aaaaaall the time, and my mother HATED it.
ReplyDeletei love dolly so much, im getting her face her tattooed on me, no big deal :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE DOLLY! Jolene is one of my favorites and she is just such a spitfire- I don't ever really listen to country but I love me some Dolly =)

ReplyDeleteI love Dolly! I just drove through Tennessee and was so bummed we didn't have time to stop at Dolly Wood. My husband and I are planning a Tennessee trip for Graceland and Dolly Wood! Yay!
ReplyDeleteAdore her! One day, when I get to travel to the US, Dollywood is on my list of go-tos.
ReplyDeleteI just love how positive she is. She's been through some tough trials in life and I really admire her attitude.
jolene is one of my all-time favourite songs!!
ReplyDeletelove
hilka*
I love her background story!
ReplyDeleteI also adore Dolly Parton. If you ever make it over to Tennessee, a visit to Dollyworld, her theme park in Pigeon Forge, is a MUST. It is precious and has a WONDERFUL Dolly museum.
ReplyDeleteoh i LOVE her! she is so darling, and such a feisty woman of strength! she's fabulous. and not to mention, jolene is one of the best songs EVER. period.
ReplyDeleteI definitely live in Gatlinburg, which is right next door to Pigeon Forge.. home of Dollywood! I honestly don't understand why people visit, i won't lie, but Dollywood (or dollyhood as we call it) is pretty bad ass. so is splash country and dixie stampede. good times!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely ADORE Dolly! She's just too cute, and has the sweetest voice.
ReplyDeleteI love Dolly!! My best friend is a HUGE Dolly fan, so it was hard not to fall in love with her, too. She's even gotten us to go to Dollywood! It's pretty fun!
ReplyDeleteDolly has such a big heart and she's so sweet and hilarious! <3
The first book report I ever delivered was on Dolly Parton's autobiography, in sixth grade. I can still remember highlights from the book, with scary detail, though I haven't picked it up since!
ReplyDeleteAlso, when I was little, my Dad used to tell me that Jolene was inspired by a young redheaded girl-just like me-that Dolly had seen. I totally swooned over that at age 10. Ha.

It's funny that you wrote about Dolly yesterday- I stayed home sick from work and watched Oprah for the first time in months and it was an episode with her (we are behind the US obviously). I'd heard of her but didn't know much about her. She's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!! I was totally gonna be dolly- from the top right photo for Halloween. I wanted to get extensions and make my hair all big! xo
ReplyDeleteI love Dolly too!!!! Islands in the stream is the name of my blog and my boyfriend and I's song! Love It!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Dolly!
ReplyDeleteYou found some great photos.
She's so cute.

ReplyDeleteJolene has been one of my favorite songs since I was a little girl!! I've never been to Dollywood, but the Dixie Stampede in Branson, MO is an awesome good time.
