If you've never been to Arizona, you should definitely make a point to get here one day. It's a beautiful, beautiful place with gorgeous mountains, desert, forest, and sky. We live in Northern Arizona, which has more of the forest than desert variety, but it's amazing that you can drive an hour or two and be in a completely different environment. Desert to snow in a matter of sixty minutes. This morning I made the two-hour drive home from my parents, and it was a stunning day; huge clouds in the sky and a bit of darkness due to the impending storm. I love driving long distances, and I think this stems from going away to college and making the drive home often, and then spending the first year of Hank and my relationship living hours apart. Sometimes there is nothing better than putting on a favorite album and just losing yourself on the open road- it clears my head in the best possible way.
Here are some photos from this morning:
...and a little "driving" playlist for you, too! Today's music consisted of mostly Lucero- it was just one of those days.

There is definitely a heart in the clouds in the second picture! I grew up in California and lived in Montana for a few years, but I completely agree with you, the diverse weather here is incredible! I love Arizona!
ReplyDeleteOmd, girl! I love Arizona!! I am so excited about eventually moving there. It will be a few years, but still. Eep! I love it there. :]
ReplyDeletexo.
One of my favorite things about Az. I used to live in Payson where the weather was perfect most of the time. I'm back in the valley now. Enjoying the nice weather now before summer time. Off to the coffee shop next to joes right now. Its always to funny to read az bloggers going to same the places I go to all the time. I'm surprised I haven't run into any blog friends yet. beautiful photos.
ReplyDeletegorgeous. there's so much sky!
ReplyDeleteGreat playlist too. I need a good roadtrip soon.
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteArizona in the winter is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteGreat playlist :)
I love parts of AZ in different seasons like I can't stand Maricopa county during the summer, way too hot! Where I live in CA is like that. In 40 minutes you can be at the beach, 30 minutes you can be in the mountains/snow, and 40 minutes and you're in the desert riding dirt bikes. I love living in diverse (climate wise) states like that!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty. A foreign land to me...here in the land of big fluffy trees.
ReplyDeleteThis playlist is lovely. It is the perfect background music for my grad school homework :) Thank you for exposing me to new artists/genres of music.
ReplyDeleteI love living in Az. I visited Phx from Tucson this passed weekend and both cities are so amazing, I'm happy to call Az home. ps: Love the Meaghan Smith in your playlist. She's great.
ReplyDeleteI love Northern AZ. I almost went to school at NAU! Flagstaff is awesome...
ReplyDeleteMy aunt recently moved to Arizona and from her pictures it looks lovely. I'm going to have to make a point to visit her one of these days.
ReplyDeleteOh and you have Alkaline Trio on your playlist! LOVE. They have been one of my favorites for years and years.
beautiful! i love those clouds and that blue sky makes me excited for warmer weather here. what an awesome play list for driving too, we can't seem to get enough mates of state these days...have you ever seen their blog, "band on the (diaper) run"? i stumbled across it a few months ago and it's pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteI always take photos on the way from Phoenix to Prescott, too. It's such a pretty drive, and I am seriously in love with that first one.
ReplyDeleteI hope to make it out there one day. I've always wanted to visit and you make it seem so wonderful. :]
ReplyDeleteArizona is on our list of places to visit. Dove Mountain I think? I enjoy long drives too. Its a good chance to just be quiet.

ReplyDeletealso, my boyfriend lives in the valley while I live in prescott...
I associate that drive with everything that is wonderful. ( :
A lot of times, my favorite part of the road trip is the long distances we drive. Nothing better than putting on a favorite album and getting lost on the road!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI miss Arizona when I see pictures like this. Especially since I'm in the middle of a huge blizzard here in Chicago. It really is beautiful there! I also agree with you on the road trip front. I love singing really obnoxiously to my favorite trashy music for hours :).
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love finding people who love where they live <3
