a short film.
My friends Brittney and Marcella shared this on their respective blogs earlier today and I thought I would also post it here after it moved me to tears. Since becoming a Mom I've found that my respect for other parents has only grown, and the respect that I have for any single parent is just immeasurable. It's hard enough doing this job with two people, and I can only imagine the struggle it can be with one. I have a quite a few single mama friends, and quite simply, you are all amazing and inspire me every single day with your perseverance and strength. I thought this film was beautiful, and I wanted to share it here, with all of you.

this film is so sweet. that daddy is amazing. she's one lucky little girl.
ReplyDeleteOmgz, crying everywhere. Like big sobby tears. My husband is in the Navy and was gone from month 9 to month 19 in my daughter's life, missing all of the most memorable times that he was walking about, so this really hit home for me. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great clip and what an awesome dad! That girl is so lucky. Even with only one parent she has so much love. It's better than having two parents who only love her half that much.
ReplyDeleteThat sounded bad. I'm not saying two parents love half as much as one. Just saying that some could. Just wanted to clarify!
ReplyDeletehow sweet!! <3 thanks so much for sharing. i really love this tribute to his daughter.. i hope she is able to watch it someday when she's older to see how much her daddy's always loved her.
ReplyDeleteit reminded me a little bit of this documentary about punk rock dads that my boyfriend just told me about! =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-wIqUt_6cA&feature=player_embedded

Oh I love it! I had to repost it too.
ReplyDeleteI like his point of view on the fact that he doesn't want someone to be with him for HIM, but more so that they can experience HER.
Thank for sharing this beautiful short film! I am a single mother to an amazing little boy who just turned one. His love for his daughter is like the love I have for my son. He is my best friend, my everything.
ReplyDeletedads (at least around New England) aren't very publicized. I feel like I just want to show this video to every old-timer vermonter out there, and prove that tattooed, single fathers are just as amazing, strong and loving as two parents can be.
ReplyDeleteAnywho. Enough stuffing my foot in my mouth, I loved the video. I cried quite a bit. He's so sweet. She's the luckiest little girl.
