Happy Monday to ME!

I woke up, and thanks to a few of my Facebook friends, noticed that there was a new Hunger Games trailer available to watch. And unlike the first one that barely showed anything, this one sheds light on so much, and so many characters. I am beyond excited for this, and from what I can tell, it's going to be absolutely amazing.

I read the first Hunger Games book a few years ago and since then I've persuaded almost everyone in my life to read all three of them, including most of my students. I'm such a book-pusher.

Let me know what you think! Happy Monday!

  3. I've been very skeptical about the movie, since I love the books so much...but the new trailer definitely looks amazing! Still not totally sure about Jennifer Lawrence though...I don't know, something about her acting bugs me.

  4. I just watched this earlier! I am super excited!
I liked how they didn't show anything going on inside of the games, just leading up to it..

  6. I bought these books for my daughter in an attempt to get her into reading more. She read the first one and wasn't convinced. I devoured all three in a matter of two weeks. So entertaining!

And even as annoyed as I am about the casting (Katniss is 14 when it starts!) I'm gonna see this in the theater. Can not wait.

  7. I STILL haven't read these! They've been on my list for a long time but I can never find them at my favorite bookstore and the library copy I reserved almost a year ago still hasn't been returned, he he.

  12. I haven't yet gotten around to reading past the first 60 or so pages of the first book, but I'm definitely excited to enjoy the movies with all of my friends who've raved so much about the series! Though I'll admit - sometimes I enjoy browsing through movie trailers more than the actual films :)

  16. the trailer looks amazing! can't wait. love the first two books but hated the last. i'm jumping ahead a little bit but fingers crossed they make the movie better than the book.

  17. Now I need to decide if I should read the books or just go see the movie. I would usually read first to allow my imagination to run the show, but that movie looks so good.

  28. It looks good, and since it's a movie and book that my daughters and wife are already crazy over, possibly I might be able to get into, too, and we can all go watch together.

  31. I read all three books in a matter of days and have since read them twice more!

I just blogged about this myself! Eeee!!!!

I was not excited about the casting of Katniss or Peeta -- at all! -- but the more I watch the trailer, the more excited I get and the less I care that they are/were "all wrong." (I actually watched the trailer for the first time without the sound due to technical difficulties, and it still managed to make me cry! LOL)

  35. Because of your recommendation I started reading these books and inhaled all of them in less than a week! Thanks. The movie looks great (I secretly <3 Donald Sutherland) If you love these books you should read the "Tomorrow when the war began" series by John Marsden. Love it, plus I plug aussie writers as much as possible.....plug plug. :)
