Light Parade 2011

Everything is so much more fun with Henry around, and that goes double for the holidays.  Even though we still have a month until Christmas, we've been having a great time adopting new traditions, and making old ones our own. Every year our town has a light parade, and it's a lot of fun to get bundled up, get some hot chocolate, and watch all the floats go by. One of the things I love most about living in a small town is all of the tradition and fun the holidays bring, and our town really seems to come even more alive this time of the year. We had a great time at the parade, and I think Henry did too (minus the fire engines' sirens- he HATED those). It was a fun night though- cold but not too cold, crowded downtown but not too bad- and a good time was had by all!

Happy almost-December, everyone!

  2. A light parade? I never heard of such a thing! We usually go up to Del Mar and look at all the Christmas displays inside the Horse race tracks. This looks 1000 more fun. Happy almost December!

  4. Wow that looks like a lot of fun. Sometimes I wish we lived in a small town to do things enjoy little things like this although my city does have their annual winter parade but that's not for a few weeks I believe. I love Christmas time!!

  6. Those sirens were really loud!

The Prescott light parade got me into the Christmas spirit and I'm so much the bahumbug type.

This is our first Christmas in Prescott -- and our daughter's first Christmas anywhere -- and so we popped out to the light parade to see what was up. My favorite was the ATV done up like a horse.

Did you know it is only $30 to enter and anyone can be in it? Not so sure I don't need sparklers and a baton or something for next year. I've never been in a parade and I'm thinking it is time!

We're now looking forward to the Courthouse Lighting, the Christmas Parade, and the Gingerbread Village!
