Clean Happy makes me happy! ...& win a trip to San Francisco, too!

First of all, I can't say it enough- I am SO excited to be partnering with method to share some awesome things over the upcoming months.  If you don't know what method is, let me tell you! Or actually, let me grab a little blurb from their website because they can say it much better than I can -

Eric knew people wanted cleaning products they didn’t have to hide under their sinks. And Adam knew how to make them without any dirty ingredients. Their powers combined, they set out to save the world and create an entire line of home care products that were more powerful than a bottle of sodium hypochlorite. Gentler than a thousand puppy licks. Able to detox tall homes in a single afternoon.

I really, really love method and that's why I'm excited to share this love with all of you. I can't think of anything better than using products that are good for the environment and also safe to use around my family, so method is really a win-win in our house. Plus, the products are so well-designed and really beautiful that you can't help but admire them. I have a couple neat things to share with you today too, and first up is this video! It will answer some of questions I got on Instragram and this post, like "what is with that huge nose?" or "is that a lite brite made out of method bottles?!" The answer awaits you below...

Wasn't that fantastic?! After learning all about the method story it totally makes me tear up...and it's so neat to recognize so many wonderful method faces, too. And some more good news? method is offering the chance for one lucky person to win a trip for two to San Francisco (just like the trip I went on) including a visit to the method HQ, lunch with the Method co-founders, a year’s supply of Method products, and other surprises, too!

Sounds amazing, right?

To enter, simply head over to the method Facebook page and click on the "clean happy" tab, then click on the "enter to win" banner. The contest begins today and ends April 3rd. Good luck! And if one of you win, take me with you, please!

Before I go, I'd love to know -
  • Do you use method products?
  • And if so, which scent or product is your favorite?
Right now I'm LOVING the Lime + Sea Salt hand soap. It's summer in a bottle!

*this is a post sponsored by method but all opinions expressed are my own. I still haven't met a method product I haven't loved!

  4. The Almond wood floor cleaner! I sometimes wonder if it would taste as good as it smells because it smells so good! But no worries, not going to drink it anytime soon! I also love the Lemon Verbena products.

  5. Why do they still use sodium laurel sulfate in their products though? I don't buy any products with sulfates or parabens. They have fantastic scents, but I'm not comfortable with using sulfates.

    1. Hi Anon,

method has an answer for you!

Sulfates is just a catch-all term relating to SLS and SLeS and related compounds. There has been some controversy over SLS being carcinogenic. SLS is a safe ingredient and has not been classified as a known, probable or even suspected carcinogen by either the International Agency for Research on Cancer (www.iarc.fr) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org). The ACS has actually gone so far as to issue a statement to this effect.

While the carcinogen concern is completely unfounded, SLS can in fact be a moderate skin and eye irritant when used in high concentrations and unbuffered. method only uses SLS in our formulations at sufficiently low concentrations so that any irritation concern is irrelevant.

When deciding to use Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in some of our formulations, method did a complete assessment of the environmental and health aspects of this ingredient, including tests for toxicity and biodegradability. This was done in cooperation with the EPEA, an independent environmental research institute led by Dr. Michael Braungart, author of the landmark text Cradle to Cradle. Their findings showed SLS to be altogether safe in its intended usage, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and environmentally preferable.

      Hope this helps!

  6. I have been obsessed with Method since Leo was born, I use most of their products (Meyers too but we will keep that hush hush) My favorite is their almond wood cleaner and almond floor cleaner. Also their laundry soap in a pump is amazing, you use the right amount each time and the smell is fresh and subtle.
Congrats on your partnership with them!!

    1. Thanks lady! And I totally agree about the laundry soap. We leaned a lot about it during the Summit and it was crazy to learn that most people use way too much soap when the wash clothes...which in turn can affect the lifespan and quality of your clothing. It makes me wonder why they give you such a big pour cup for such a small amount! Tricky!

    1. Zoe,

Hi and thanks for your comment! To respond, this is nothing new...I've had sponsors for a long time and even used to do sponsor posts a couple times a month. I don't do those anymore as I feel they take away from my content, but I will always be into posting about and teaming up with a company like method. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but hopefully you will be able to scroll past these posts. I'm very aware of the impact too many sponsored posts can have on a blog and it's important to me to keep a balance. But stuff like this is exciting to me and I am so happy to share it!

I use their stainless steel cleaner on my appliances, and the clementine hand soap and dish soap.
