One of my Twitter friends said that Henry looks like a Jolie-Pitt here. I kind of agree! Those lips! Love him.
1. The past few days have given us these little glimpses of spring (until today, but let's ignore that). Tiny little bits of warmth, sandwiched between freezing cold days that make us say "OH! Spring is coming!" But then of course, it will snow again (probably in April), and it will be incredibly disappointing, at least until the real spring days come. Unfortunately I am one of those people that get sick of seasons pretty quickly. I love fall but at the end I'm ready for some snow! And I love winter but towards the end I'm in desperate need of super sunshine-filled days and walks downtown without a jacket. This year I'm trying to be in the now and embrace it all but you guys? I'm cold.
2. So Henry is really into trains. He has been for awhile but lately it's at an all time high. Henry also happens to love music, and we listen to Raffi a lot while driving. On our way back from Phoenix Henry was having us listen to this particular Raffi song about trains a million times in a row, so I decided to search on Spotify for train-related songs to give us a break. I accidentally clicked on the first one that popped up, which happening to be Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train (it starts with him yelling "ALLL ABOOOOAAARD!") and Henry fell in love. So now my two-year insists on only listening to Ozzy in the car, and this song in particular. It's the funniest thing in the world to hear him singing "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train!" True Life: My Toddler is a Metal Head.
3. The other day while in the car Hank and I were having a conversation about crazy things happening at that very moment, somewhere in the world. I love doing that, like thinking of the the most ridiculous thing you can think of and then wondering if that particular thing could be happening RIGHT NOW, somewhere out there. Do you ever do this? Someone tell me I'm not alone! But I just got to thinking about this and all of the weird and funny things people talk about with our partners, all of the inside jokes and strange things only that other person gets, and it made me so happy to know that somehow Hank and I found each other in this great, wide world. And I feel lucky. "We are all a little weird and life's a
little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible
with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it
love.” Perfect, right?

Yeah he's a metal head. such a fun song to sing along to!I definitely do think about some crazy things that could be happening right now.
ReplyDeleteThe temperatures here in Michigan have been crazy!Though I love warm weather, I would like to have a great time where it snows and then stays for a while instead of melting the next day. I need to go snowboarding at least once this season.
OMG girl! Michigan?! I can't complain about our cold weather then! I hope you're staying warm! <3
DeleteSo cute! My son fell in love with AC/DC because of Iron Man and I was the mom explaining to people why my 4 year knew the lyrics to "Highway to Hell," though he thinks it says "I'm on a highway to hole". :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh I love that! It makes me laugh to think of all these little ones growing up with such bad ass musical taste.
DeleteYou are totally not alone! The hubs and I are constantly talking about ridiculous things. And
ReplyDelete"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
is this quote yours? Because its amazing! I have been saying similar things like this about my husband and myself for years!
As far as kids and music goes my child is the "weird kid" in his class cause his mp3 player is full of The Ramones and then a bunch of other bands no one his age has ever heard of... He's 9. I love it!

DeleteMutual weirdnress?! Love! I feel the same way about my mister. I'm pretty sure we baby talk and pretend we're kids most of the time together, which is the best. thing, possible. :) Makes me feel lucky everyday!
ReplyDeleteI love that Michelle! It's so great when we find that person. Yay for mutual weirdness!
DeleteYour kid is awesome! You should try the Quad City DJ's C'Mon 'N' Ride It (the Train) and have a little dance party ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! I mentioned down below I am going to put it on when H wakes up from his nap!
DeleteAlso, now I can't get the song out of my head! haha!

I'm jealous you're headed for spring. We have freezing rain storms and ice sheets to look forward to all week. Your kiddo is adorable by the way!

ReplyDeleteI had never thought of it until my friend mentioned it, and now I can totally see it! ha.
Delete#3-So spot on, my husband &I are exactly the same. It's truly amazing to have found somebody that really makes you feel complete in every way, even in your weirdness :)
ReplyDeleteRight? It's the best.
Deleteoh man. my two year old is a train freak as well. one night he demanded a train song, and the first thing that came to mind was that 'come on ride the train' song back from the 90s. so that's how i sing him to sleep now. maybe i ought to try ozzy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteDeanna! That is HILARIOUS! I am going to put that song on when Henry gets up from his nap. I'll keep you posted! ;)
DeleteI love the Ozzy story haha :) Too cute!!! ♥Lindsay
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay! I laugh just thinking about it. :)
DeleteHahaha that Ozzy Osbourne thing is hilarious! X
ReplyDeleteJarvis has two CD's that he goes crazy for Fleetwood Mac and BB King. Dances and shakes his butt all over the place and even tries to play along on one of Justin's guitars. Wonder how long until his tastes change?
