Currently.

A little gold glitter to put some pep in my step today.
Reading: So I tweeted a super annoying/vague tweet the other night about this amazing book I was reading, that might just be one of the best books I'd ever read, and about how I felt this way and I was only on page ten (!!). Seriously though, SO GOOD. I'm not done with it yet but my god, this book really speaks to me on a million levels as a sister, daughter, friend, etc. which makes perfect sense as the book is called Sister Mother Husband Dog: Etc. It's Delia Ephron's new book of essays, and I decided to give it a whirl after becoming obsessed with an article that I blogged about last week. I am so in love with this book and I don't ever want to finish it. It has so many layers to it, even at the half way point, and I'd imagine it would appeal to anyone who enjoys good writing and honest storytelling. Let me know if you decide to read it!

Eating: Sandwiches. I've talked about it before but I'm one of those people who eat the same thing all of the time, everyday, until I get sick of it. Right now I just want sandwiches. Sandwiches for breakfast (egg and bacon on an English muffin) and sandwiches for lunch (turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and vinegar). If you know of any good sandwich-related blogs (is there such a thing?), send the links my way.

Thinking about: 2 things, both related. Lately I've felt angry at things happening outside of my control- angry that horrible things happen to wonderful, beautiful people. It's so upsetting to see a friend hurting, and when I know there isn't much I can do to help with her pain. I feel similar to how I felt this summer, when we lost Andrew and my Grandma in a span of a few days, and it just makes me feel so sad. At the same exact time though, I've felt so blown away with the outpouring of love and support from this internet community over the past week. It's amazing to see so many people come together to support a friend and it's warmed my heart, even when it's been pretty impossible to see the good in things.

Enjoying: Charlie. I'm obviously enjoying both of the kiddos but goodness, is this baby stage sweet. Of course some days are challenging (this is a given) but I choose to focus on the good, and there is just so much of it. Every morning I wake up so excited that I get to spend my day holding and feeding and rocking this little bundle of love. It's such a special time that goes by way too quickly, so I am soaking up every single second of it.

Watching: so many shows. Nashville (the best- Connie Britton is my favorite), X-Factor (this season is SO good- loving Kelly Rowland), Sons of Anarchy (holy cow, soo violent...but I can't look away), Revenge (enjoying it, but getting a little repetitive), and Parenthood (the best). I'm going to stop with the parentheses now but I also have to add that I've somehow gotten sucked into watching Teen Mom 3, even though last time I swore I wouldn't continue watching the show! Are any of you watching any of these? I feel like I have a few more but I'm drawing a blank.

Loving: seeing all of the sweet babies that were born right around Charlie get bigger and grow more everyday thanks to IG, watching Henry grow into his big brother role, feeling like I'm getting back to feeling just a little bit normal post-baby, late night workouts, Fall everything, texting all day long with my sister and Mom, our staycation last weekend- I'll share pictures tomorrow, and getting excited for a friend's wedding this next weekend.

So, how about you? What are you up to today? Feel free to do your own "currently" post on your blog and link back in the comments for everyone to check out. And thanks again to my dear friend Megan for providing the original inspiration for these posts.

  2. I saw Connie Britton in a cab in Soho a few weeks again. Her window was rolled down and there was major traffic. I was so tempted to yell out, "Hey, Tami Taylor!" but I stopped myself. She looked fabulous.

  4. Have you seen the blog 300 sandwiches ?? It should be able to give you a few ideas...though the concept behind the blog is fairly ridiculous. Anyway, this is my first time commenting but I just wanted to say that I love your blog and I've been reading it for quite a while now. Congrats on the new addition to the family!!! :)

  5. I am loving sandwiches right now too...and I am not usually a sandwich fan. A good grilled cheese with tomatoes and pickles is a favorite. Or pear, arugula, and goat cheese. YUM. I am off to download that book....it sounds so good!

  10. I found a new delicious gluten free bread (Against the Grain baguettes, for anyone interested!) and have been making mini subs here lately. My current favorite is salami and pepperoni with cheese, red onions, black olives and peppers. YUM.

  15. Oh I'm the same way! I'll eat one thing until I find something else I'm obsessed with. I've been on this rice kick for while but now I'm getting into this yoplait light with all the different dessert flavors! Weird transition, I don't know how to went from rice to yogurt but I guess it happens. Haha!

And I love Nashville as well! At first I didn't watch it because I'm not a big country music fan so I didn't think I'd like it but then after my cake decorating class I would catch the last half hour, and now I'm obsessed!

I'm also loving SOA as well as The Walking Dead! So very good.
I will look into that book because over the summer I've been devouring books left and right. Currently (haha) I'm reading Tim Gunn's "Life Lessons" and it's a must for any Project Runway fan or just lovely human being.
Enjoy that sweet baby boy. I yearn for that sweet baby smell.
