Weekend Links

Polar Express 2012
Last year at the Polar Express.

It's the weekend! Yeah! This one will be a good one, chock full of family and festive fun. And alliteration too, apparently. Anyway, I'll be back Monday with photos from our adventures but until then, here are some links to click. I think this is my favorite round up in a long time. Enjoy!

My friend Jenny just started a charity jewelry organization. Check it out!

11 awkward things about email.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS! And you will be too, if you loved those "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books.

James Franco and Chris O'Dowd to make Broadway debuts in 'Of Mice and Men.'

Why You're So Sad About Paul Walker's Death.

That time NeNe responded and retweeted me. And called me boo.

Claire Danes likes being in her 30s, and so do I.

Wishlist: this bag, this dress, this clutch, and this beautiful glass pyramid. And also this print for Hank!

Love Emily and David's simple white stockings.

What to Expect featured a recent post of mine over on their blog, along with some other good reads you should check out.

An excerpt from a good read: "So here is the harsh truth y'all. Listen good. Our vanity is no longer enough of a reason to avoid the camera. Life doesn't wait until you "get thin" enough to capture it."

Britney Forever.

Etsy wishlist: these geometric sculptures, this pillow, this necklace, and this calendar.

"What do you do all day?"

I'm a 9, and this was very spot-on for me. Crazy! Is it accurate for you too?

A great (and true) post about blogging, over on The Daybook.

Currently posts around the web: Kaelah and Brandilyn.

Wise words about love.

Couple of 65 years dies 6 hours apart, unaware of each other's passing. Whoa.

Judy Blume and Lena Dunham.

I own this sweater and absolutely love it. So comfy and soft!

This made me laugh out loud numerous times- an article a Dad wrote about his kid's insane Christmas wishlist.

Portraits of children around the world and where they sleep. Fascinating.

And finally, The Secret Life of Grief. A great read.

  1. Christmas is coming, the latest michael kors bag here, good price quality, introduced to everyone

  2. I was laughing out loud at that Christmas list too. Hilarious.

  3. As more stories come out about Paul Walker, I do feel sad. Not nearly in the same way as losing a family member or friend, but there is absolutely that "I grew up watching you perform" thing. I genuinely love the F&F movies because they are ridiculous and I think everyone involved knows it, but they just want to have a good time. They seemed like a tightly knit group of folks, so as soon as I heard about the accident, I felt sad for Paul but I felt really sad for the F&F people. He gave as much as he could (money/time) to charities all over the world and the engagement ring story is the sweetest thing ever. I don't know...I cry when watching the news in the morning and I see stories of people who have died in terrible ways.

That Christmas list post is perfection. I hope they do a follow up in twenty years when his daughter reads his response to her demands!

Loved the "What do you do all day" piece. I'm going to send that out to a lot of ladies that I know. :)

    The Rambling Fangirl

  4. next weekend we are taking out boys to chattanooga to sleep on a train car. as a holiday special they offer two choices: 1) you can take a ride on the polar express or 2) you can go see a christmas light show/and have tickets to the aquarium. as much as i know they'd like the polar express ride, i know they would enjoy the lights and aquarium too. and i can't even make it through the polar express movie without bursting into tears. so i'm leaning more towards lights and fish. :)

  5. Loved Polar Express even as an adult. My in-laws live in Williams. Bear-azona is awesome too!

  6. That jewelry is amazing. I may just treat myself to a piece!Visit my blog for a great giveaway this week

  7. The 'insane Christmas list' had me dying, so, so funny! Good links!

  8. New to your blog and I've been clicking away at all the links- thanks for sharing!

  9. We are moving across the country and my baby and I are taking the train the whole way. I am excited but nervous, and I really hope they do some kind of Polar Express activity while we're on!

  10. Thank you for the mention as always, lady! Want that glass pyramid so badly, as well! <3.<3

  11. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the links...they always lead to something interesting! =)

  12. I hope Henry loved the Polar Express! I'm so jealous that you guys do that where you live.. it'd be so cool to do that at home here in Ontario. I'm going to watch the movie this Holiday season though :)
    Lovely post as always!

  13. The creepiest part about that number thing? My husband and I are both 2's. But that's not the weird part. When you add our birthdays the first time we're both 2000 exactly. Interesting.
