One of the best things about this year's color (which I was actually a little hesitant about at first), is that it symbolizes new beginnings. From Pantone: "Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate." Isn't that so wonderful?
I love the idea of restoring and renewing, and having those "new" feelings of spring all around our home. Here are some ways to add a little green to your space:
1. Don't go overboard, just add touches here and there. We choose three rooms we wanted to brighten up- the dining room and each boys' room, and added little accents. A succulent here, a green-hued print here. The boys LOVED these, and they bring a lot of joy to them! Great for any kids' room.
2. Use your bookshelves to add in accents of green. Small framed pictures, objects in bowls, tiny terrariums. Art.com has all of these available to you in their gallery.
3. Plants, and more plants! This is the easiest way to bring the calming feeling of Greenery into your home. Bringing bits of the outdoors inside instantly refreshes any room...any those who inhabit it. The boys and I loved making the conscious effort to add more greenery to places that needed it thanks to this project.
Below are a couple more photos, and I just have to mention love how everything we ordered from Art.com came ready to hang! Such a big plus.
Sending you green wishes and an (almost) happy Spring!
