Mothers in Bloom x Lighthouse for Hope

Hello and happy Monday! I took a little blogging break after going full speed in August (so many thoughts on that!), but I'm happy to be back at it this week and I'm really excited to share today's post! My friend Veronica and I recently started an organization here in Prescott called Mothers in Bloom (and see our IG page here). Our focus is creating opportunities for Moms to come together in the spirit of friendship and motherhood, all while giving back to our community.

Our first event was yesterday, and we partnered up with Lighthouse for Hope, an Arizona charity run by my long-time friend Hannah. It's an amazing organization and if you'd like to learn more, please be sure to visit their website. We had almost 100 people attend the event, and everyone brought items to place in care bags for kiddos fighting cancer at Phoenix Children's Hospital, lots of fleece for blankets, and the kids at the event created cards and artwork to send to the children in the hospital as well. We had all of the items laid out and the kids did an assembly line to make their bags. It was really neat to see what items the kids wanted to pick our for "their kid," and they each took a lot of pride in filling their bag up. We also had a blanket making station (to make the fleece tie blankets), and an art table that the kids loved working on.

The Barley Hound graciously donated the event space and Hank's real estate business sponsored the food and drink.  It was really just such a special day and I think everyone had a great time coming together for a good cause.

Here are some photos from the event --

And feel free to follow along with us on social here and here! We'll be announcing our next event this week and have lots of things planned through the rest of the year and into the next. I'm really excited!
