couch // rug // pillows- one and two // sweater (old but Free People)

Feeling: Every year I feel like the weather doesn't affect me, then all of a sudden we'll be deep into winter and I'll be feeling off, and I'll remember that I need to actively seek out sunshine and time spent outdoors. I don't know why I always forget this, but it's happened yet again this year! I took some major time out this past week and tried to walk with Olive after lunch and before her nap, and it's helped so much. I don't know if it's necessarily seasonal affective disorder, but I think my body just craves the Vitamin D and when I don't get enough I feel off. Whatever it may be, I'm happy to be feeling back on track.

Watching: Alana and I were chatting the other day and she mentioned she had watched this really horrible Netflix documentary called Liberated, all about Spring Break. Horrible in the sense that it was really bad, but she really couldn't look away. In college we would do major Spring Breaks- Mexico numerous times, Lake of course I was interested in checking out the film. First of all OH MY GOSH, horrible. The way these teenagers (21 year olds?) spoke about sex and each other is majorly upsetting. Maybe I'm old, but it was shocking. And secondly, it really took me back to being that age and thinking about all of the experiences we had during Spring Break and man, it was pretty gross back then too, if you really think about the culture around the whole thing. It takes on a different meaning when you have your own children, and I could only watch about half of the doc before I had to turn it off. It was bad. Have you seen it?

Listening to: The Bitch Sesh podcast. I spoke about it in this post and I'm still loving it! I love how they break down the stupidest things in the smartest way. They are such a treat to listen to, and I find myself laughing out loud constantly- and also nodding my head as they talk- I really "get" them, or maybe they get me! haha. Either way, if you like the Real Housewives like I do, you will love this podcast. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

Dreaming of: SPRING! And Summer too. I just went through some of my favorite stores and saved some of the warm weather closet items I have my eye on. It really got me thinking about how fun it's going to be this summer now that Olive is a little bigger- she'll be toddling around, loving the kiddie pool, and trying to keep up with her big bros. So much fun. And I always love warm weather clothing. Give me all the airy dresses, sandals, and cute tops and shorts! Here are some of the items that caught my eye, and I'll share the whole run down in a post soon. Loving this dress, these sneakers, and and a few of these ripped jeans. I also really love all of these mini bags and these jeans for sure. These are my fave simple tees for spring/summer, and if you want to splurge a little I always love these tees also. Other cute things: one, two, and three! I'll stop now but a bigger post coming soon.

Thinking about: We have a major potential change on the horizon and I am really excited to share more here. Don't you hate when people do that? I do, BUT I just wanted to have this little bit to reference back to once we share our news. ;) I've also been thinking a lot about the toxins in our home and self-care products ever since I downloaded the Think Dirty app. Have you seen that? You scan things you're curious about, and it tells you how toxic/non-toxic they are. It's been such an eye opener for me, and a lot of the things I love have VERY bad scores. We've been trying to eliminate these things from our home/self care, but it's just amazing how many things pose a danger, even items billed as "clean" or "healthy." That's one of the biggest reasons I've really jumped into this, and I'm relieved and happy we're making even more positive changes day by day.

Eating: I feel like I'm in such a dinner rut. Help! I need to shake things up a bit, so if you have any favorite websites or cookbooks, let me know! When I feel like this I like to try a new meal service like Blue Apron, but I'm kind of over that too. Tell me what you do- do you meal plan? Take it day by day? We typically meal plan, but again- in a rut here! Can't wait to hear what you all do- I'm going to ask on IG as well and hope to find some inspiration!

  1. Girl I'm in a dinner rut too! Tell me how you get out of it!

  2. Dani- I love following your blog and IG! I wanted to let you know that it's difficult to read the font used on the blog. I read your blog via bloglovin, but have the same difficulty when I click over to your site. The letters are so close together in the font that is used, it makes the lettering look gray and difficult to read. I generally highlight the text so I can read your new blog posts!

  3. Thanks for sharing the thinkdirty app! I've been in various rabbit holes trying to be more green (which I thought I already was!) so that will help me make better choices. Also, check out Minimalist Baker for easy, delicious recipes.

  4. Thank you for recommending the Bitch Sesh podcast! I just listened to my first episode while on a walk and fell in love with it! I too found myself laughing out loud on several occasions and just want to listen to all the other episodes!

  5. Ooooo a new netflix opportunity for this weekend. But now I'm scared to watch it!

And Good American jeans are on my dreaming list too!

    1. Olive looks like such a sweetheart in that first picture!! And I can completely relate to the need for sunshine in my life, I learned that a quick weekend trip to escape the cold weather works wonders ;)

  6. You're absolutely preaching talking about the lack of sunlight getting you off your game. I constantly feel like I wanna hide from the world during winter (which would of course seem counterproductive!)

  7. Thanks for the recommmendations! With spring comes time for a new wardrobe change and I'll definitely be checking out those ripped jeans from Good American!

  8. I always feel a bit slowed down in the winter, as well. Just gotta keep surrounding ourselves with love and positivity! ALSO loving your outfit, girly.

  9. Dreaming of spring as well! Can't wait to break out the sandal and ripped jeans combo.

  10. I'm obsessed with Good American! The ripped jeans would be great for spring!
